General information
The multi-drug urine test can detect six classes of drugs in urine. The detection thresholds indicating the minimum concentration required in urine for a positive result are:
- Amphetamines : 1000 ng/ml
- Cocaine : 300 ng/ml
- Cannabis (11-nor-Δ9-THC-9 COOH) : 50 ng/ml
- Methamphetamines : 1000 ng/ml
- MDMA: 1000 ng/ml
- Opiates (heroin) : 300 ng/ml.
Contents of the bag
A foil pouch contains a screening test with its cap.
Precautions for use
Please read all information in this leaflet before performing the test.
- This test is intended for external use only. DO NOT SWALLOW.
- The test can only be interpreted if the instructions are scrupulously followed. Carefully observe the times indicated.
- Store between +2°C and +30°C. DO NOT FREEZE.
- Do not use after the expiry date printed on the label and on the protective bag, or if the bag is damaged.
- Single-use test.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- After use, dispose of non-recyclable waste and sort recyclable waste according to local guidelines.
Instructions for use
Wait for the device to reach room temperature between 15 and 30°C before starting the test.
- Remove the urine test from the foil pouch. The test must be used within one hour of opening the pouch.
- Unscrew the cap and urinate into the test. A minimum urine level indicated on the test must be maintained.
- Screw the cap back on.
A temperature label on the test allows confirmation of the temperature of the urine sample within 4 minutes of its sampling. A green color will indicate the temperature, which should be between 32 and 38°C (90 and 100°F) to ensure that the sample has not been tampered with.
- Peel off the label from the multi-drug urine test.
- The test strip results should be read after 5 minutes. Do not interpret the result after 10 minutes.
Interpretation of results
POSITIVE
BAND T NOT VISIBLE.
The test is positive for a drug when a band appears in the control region (C) and no band appears in the test region (T).
NEGATIVE
BAND T VISIBLE
The test is negative when a band appears in the control region (C) and a band also appears in the test region (T). The intensity of the lines varies. Even a very faint line indicates a negative result.
INVALID
BAND C NOT VISIBLE
The test is invalid when the band does not appear in the control zone (C). This most often occurs when the package insert is not followed or if the sample volume is insufficient. Read the package insert and start again with a new test.
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
How does the multi-drug urine test work?
Using antibodies against the urinary metabolite of cannabis (11-nor- △9 -THC-9 COOH), amphetamines, methamphetamines, MDAM (Ecstasy), cocaine, and opiates, the multi-drug urine test reveals the presence of one or more of these six drug classes. If the concentration of these compounds rises to a certain threshold, the test is positive.
When can it be done?
The test can be performed on a urine sample obtained at any time of day.
How long does it take to detect cannabis/opiates/amphetamines/cocaine in urine?
| Substance | Approximate detection time in urine |
|---|---|
| Cannabis | 1 to 3 days (occasional use) / up to 30 days (chronic use) |
| Amphetamines | 1 to 3 days |
| Methamphetamines | 1 to 4 days |
| MDMA (Ecstasy) | 1 to 3 days |
| Cocaine | 1 to 4 days (up to 7 days for chronic use) |
| Opiates | 1 to 3 days (up to 7 days depending on substance and use) |
These durations are indicative and may vary depending on several factors: frequency and quantity of consumption, metabolism, hydration, state of health, etc.
Can we get wrong results?
For the test to be reliable, the instructions in the instructions must be followed scrupulously.
I didn't urinate enough in the multi-drug urine test. Will I get an accurate result?
No, if the urine volume is not sufficient, the test may give a false negative or be invalid.
What is the purpose of the line that appears next to the C (Control) mark?
If the line next to the C mark appears, it means the urine drug test worked. If the line next to the C mark does not appear, it means the test did not work. You should then start again with a new test.
I read the result after 20 minutes. Will I get a reliable result?
No, the result must be read 10 minutes after performing the multi-drug urine test, in accordance with the test instructions provided in the package insert. After 20 minutes, the interpretation of the results is no longer reliable.
How to interpret the test if the intensity of the T and C lines are different?
The intensity of the lines is irrelevant for reading the results. The lines must be visible, homogeneous, and continuous to be interpreted. The appearance of low-intensity T lines is considered a negative result.
