What are the challenges linked to your prevention action?

We are aware of the importance of the health and well-being of our employees. We wanted to address subjects that concern us all by launching several awareness campaigns. These initiatives cover themes such as solar risk, Pink October And Movember, thus aiming to mobilize as many participants as possible and promote a corporate culture focused on health and well-being.

What actions have you set up with Medisur?
  • A webinar and a conference hosted by Doctor Floriane Dion to learn about solar risk and good preventive actions to adopt on a daily basis.
  • On-site screening workshops: Each participant is invited to a skin examination carried out by a healthcare professional to detect the existence of dermatological lesions.
  • The sun has a positive effect on our mood and helps us synthesize vitamin D, essential to our health. Conversely, a vitamin D deficiency can be responsible for many disorders. With the Health box My skin & the sun, each employee was able to test their knowledge of solar risk and measure their vitamin D levels in complete autonomy.
What were the returns of your colleagues?

The “My skin & the sun” awareness campaign was a great success by allowing employees to know how to better protect themselves.

“I learned that childhood sunburns are responsible for adult skin cancers and that there are very simple ways to prevent them!”

Indeed, it is often the lack of information that leads to risky behavior. With simple precautionary measures, such as exposing yourself only after 4 p.m., using adequate sun protection and in the right quantity, we significantly reduce the probability of having skin cancer.

In addition, thanks to the screening workshop, we were able to receive a referral letter in order to obtain a faster appointment with a dermatologist. Which is a great advantage when you know that there is an average wait of six months for an appointment with a specialist!

The final word for those who are still hesitant to engage in HRQoL?

The “My skin & the sun” awareness campaign was a great success by allowing employees to know how to better protect themselves.
