Can you tell us about your activity and your commitments HRQoL?

The Roche Group is a healthcare and diagnostics company present in more than 100 countries and employing more than 94,000 people worldwide. Since 1896, well-being and health have been part of our culture. We do prevention through numerous prevention initiatives (OR, tobacco-free months, women's hearts bus, prevention of cardiovascular diseases, lung cancer, etc.). We even have a “LIVE WELL” program which organizes several awareness-raising actions so that each employee can take charge of their health.

What were your challenges linked to your prevention action?

We know that the number of diabetics continues to grow. We estimate that within 10 years, there will be 10% of the French population who will be affected by this pathology. As a key player in diabetes prevention, it was our duty to act to raise awareness among our employees with preventive actions.

Why did you choose the Medisur method?

What actions have you set up with Medisur?
  • A conference for:
    • To understand the importance of healthy lifestyle and diet in the prevention of diabetes
    • Know how to act for yourself and those around you by spotting the early signs
    • Improve your overall health with expert advice
  • “Prevention assessment” workshop carried out by a dietitian nurse:
      • 45 employees were able to test their blood sugar
      • 270 health box “My diabetes & me” to test yourself and learn independently
What were the returns of your colleagues?

This educational and concrete approach allowed for rich discussions on the theme of diabetes. And also to support our employees towards a more in-depth diagnosis. This awareness raising has generated a lot of interest, in particular because of the possibility of being able to test oneself in complete autonomy.

The final word for those who are still hesitant to engage in HRQoL?

Awareness goes beyond information. It leads to a change in behavior for both the employee and those around them. We give them the keys to take control of their health. The employee feels more listened to, more supported. He achieves a better quality of life at work, feels less stressed, and also has a more enlightened view of the habits he needs to change.
