This format allows for the detection of several classes of substances, beyond just cannabis, in a single test. It is available in saliva or urine versions, with high or low thresholds depending on the desired sensitivity, and also in a version that includes an alcohol component. It is particularly useful in workplace drug testing campaigns, where the goal is to obtain a comprehensive overview rather than targeting a single substance.

Reliability was assessed by comparing the results of the self-test to a reference method, liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), on a panel of 90 samples. This level of performance remains contingent upon strict adherence to the instructions: insufficient saliva or reading too late can skew the result, generally leading to a false negative.

For occasional users, meaning those who use less than twice a week, the test generally remains positive for up to about twelve hours after the last dose. For more regular users, this window can be significantly longer. It is therefore recommended to wait at least twelve hours after use before considering driving.

This threshold corresponds to that used for the screening tests stipulated in Articles R. 235-3 and R. 235-4 of the French Highway Code, which are used during roadside checks. This is not by chance: it allows the self-test to serve as a realistic benchmark before driving, as a negative result at this threshold corresponds, in most cases, to what a police check would detect.

The test uses antibodies against Δ9-THC, the main psychoactive component of cannabis. The user collects a saliva sample using a collector equipped with a saturation indicator, which changes color when a sufficient volume has been collected. If the THC concentration reaches the test threshold, a positive result is displayed, to be read between 10 and 20 minutes after the procedure, according to the instructions.
