EPIDEMIOLOGY BREAST PALPATION SELF-TEST

Breast cancer is both the most common and deadliest in women. However, its incidence and mortality are decreasing year by year. Detected early, it is a cancer with a good prognosis, the survival rate of which remains stable (87 %). Self-examination of the breasts (“breast awareness”) is systematically recommended in all cases. Studies show that women have discovered a lot of breast problems on their own.

Health professionals advise performing self-examination once a month, shortly after menstruation because the breast tissue is more flexible and less sensitive. Once the menopause, it is possible to carry it out on the desired day. It consists of two stages: a visual examination and self-examination. In France, 1 in 8 women is affected by breast cancer. However, early detection cures 9 out of 10 cancers.

PRINCIPLE BREAST PALPATION SELF-TEST

Thanks to its adhesion to the skin, the pad reduces friction between the fingers and the breast for an easier and more comfortable examination. The breast self-examination pad allows you to notice changes in the breast: a simple gesture that can save lives. Indeed, knowing the different signs and symptoms is knowing your breasts. Early detection of the disease is the best protection. Self-examination is an important step in the detection of breast-related diseases, in addition to regular breast examinations carried out in the clinic and mammograms prescribed by your doctor. The pad is made of 2 sheets of plastic (vinyl) sealed and containing a liquid (silicone).

OBJECTIVE BREAST PALPATION SELF-TEST

The AWARE self-palpation pad is a medical tool for detecting breast lumps and imperfections. This device greatly facilitates the prevention of breast cancer thanks to its composition which increases the sense of touch.

WHO TO RECOMMEND BREAST PALPATION SELF-TEST

We recommend to all women, regardless of age and health.

Health professionals recommend examining your chest every month, a week after your period ends.

PRECAUTIONS FOR USE

Don't panic if you think you feel a lump in your breast. Firm glandular tissue and soft fatty tissue make up normal breast tissue and always seem to have lumps and bumps. The menstrual cycle directly affects the variation in the size. Tell your doctor about breast tissue changes that extend beyond a full menstrual cycle or appear larger, more prominent, or more prominent. Gaining or losing weight changes the amount of fatty tissue in the breast, which can change the contour and texture of the breast. It is therefore important to compare your breasts side by side to detect changes. It is not uncommon for one breast to be larger than the other.

Do not use the AWARE pad in the shower.

If the AWARE pad gets dirty, simply rinse it with warm water and let it dry. Store the pad at room temperature.
